Jean Philippe Fahrni is an Associate in Pestalozzi’s Corporate/M&A Practice Group. His practice focuses on domestic and international M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions, corporate restructurings, corporate governance, as well as general corporate, commercial and contract law.
He advises both Swiss and international clients on complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and strategic corporate projects. In addition, he advises companies on all aspects of corporate law, including joint ventures, reorganisations and corporate governance matters.
Through his academic work at the Institute for Commercial Law of the University of Bern, Jean Philippe has developed particular expertise in corporate law. He completed his doctoral studies in 2025 with a PhD (summa cum laude) in Swiss corporate law. In addition to his legal practice, Jean Philippe regularly publishes on matters of Swiss corporate and business law.
Past and current highlights:
- Advised Condecta on the acquisition of WL Bau AG;
- Advised SPIE in connection with the acquisition of nimeg ag;
- Advised Condecta on the sale of its MobiToil business to TOI TOI;
- Advised the sellers on the sale of Hydroplant AG to the Rentokil Initial Group;
- Advised UBS on venture capital and growth capital investments in Swiss companies.
Before joining Pestalozzi, Jean Philippe Fahrni worked as a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Institute for Commercial Law of the University of Bern. He was admitted to the Swiss Bar in 2023. Prior to that, he worked as a Junior Associate at a Swiss law firm in Bern from 2021 onwards. In 2020, he served as a law clerk at the Regional Court Bern-Mittelland and obtained his Master of Law from the University of Bern, having previously earned his Bachelor of Law from the same university in 2018.
