Privacy Policy

This privacy policy sets out how we process your personal data when you use the Pestalozzi website and the measures we take to protect that personal data.

We, Pestalozzi Attorneys at Law Ltd., Feldeggstrasse 4, 8008 Zurich, Switzerland, are responsible for the collection and processing of your personal data through our website.

2. Data processing via the Pestalozzi website

When you visit our website, our servers temporarily record each access in a log file (server logs). The following data is collected without your intervention and stored until it is automatically deleted: IP address, date and time of access, name and URL of the file accessed, the website from which the access was made (referrer URL), the browser used and the operating system of the computer used.

Byteful GmbH in Zurich, which is responsible for the administration of our website, has access to this data. The data is stored on the servers of Nine Internet Solution AG in Switzerland.

We use the data collected during your visit to the website to make the website available to you as well as to optimise it, to ensure an interference-free connection and a comfortable use of the website, to evaluate the security and stability of the system and for other administrative purposes related to the website. We also use this information for administrative purposes (e.g. administrative and organisational processes), to promote, develop, monitor and analyse our business relationships and to develop our services. We only store your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above.

2.2 Subscripton to the newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use the information you provide during registration to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time (via a link in each newsletter or by sending an e-mail to newsletter@pestalozzilaw.com). In addition to the e-mail address and name required for registration, you may also provide a company name. We use the services of Mailchimp, a company based in the US, to manage the newsletter. The data provided is automatically stored on their servers. You can find more information about this company under the following link: Intuit Privacy Statement. In addition, Byteful GmbH has access to the data processed during the dispatch of the newsletter as part of its maintenance work.

We collect your information to communicate with you and, where you have consented, to inform you about new services and developments in our environment (e.g. via the newsletter).

The data will be stored for as long as you subscribe to our newsletter. If you unsubscribe, your data will be deleted.

2.3 When contacting us by e-mail or telephone

Our website allows you to contact all Pestalozzi staff directly by e-mail or telephone.

You are responsible for the messages you send us and for the content and data they contain. We would like to point out that communication by electronic means involves certain security risks, such as the possibility of e-mails being intercepted, corrupted or accessed without authorisation, as well as the risk of viruses and other malware. We collect personal information from you to the extent that you voluntarily provide it to us in your communication and it is necessary to respond to your inquiry or provide the services you have requested.

The e-mails are stored on servers in Switzerland.

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide the services you have requested or for as long as we have a legitimate interest in retaining your personal data, such as for the assertion or defense of legal claims or for archiving purposes. Please note that certain data may be subject to specific legal retention requirements. We will retain such information for the duration of the retention period. As soon as your personal data is no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes, it will be deleted or anonymised as far as possible.

2.4 Job applications via our website

3. The security of your data

We protect the personal data we collect from you when you visit our website or send us a message with appropriate technical and organisational security measures. Our service providers are subject to the same security requirements as we are.

If the service provider is located outside of Switzerland, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we will contractually require the recipient to ensure adequate data protection in accordance with legal requirements, in particular by concluding so-called standard contractual clauses (based on the model clauses adopted by the European Commission with their adaptations to Swiss law) with these service providers. This is currently the case with Mailchimp.

  • You may request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

  • You can request the transfer of your personal data.

Please note that the granting of these rights may in part be refused or restricted for legal reasons. We may refuse to provide information to the extent permitted or required by data protection or other laws, in particular attorney-client privilege. Where such a refusal or restriction is required or permitted by law, we will inform you of our decision and the reasons for it.
