Off Duty Behavior
Martin L. Mueller, Partner at Pestalozzi, will explore the legal framework and employer obligations when employees engage in misconduct outside of work. The presentation will conclude with an open discussion and a networking apéro.
What if:
- An employee is caught on video singing xenophobic songs at a private party on a public holiday.
- You find out that an employee has been mistreating his wife so severely that she had to seek refuge in a shelter.
- Employees have a private chat group where they make highly derogatory, sexually suggestive, or insulting comments about a co-worker or their manager.
- An employee likes or engages with an extremist group on social media.
In the presentation, we will discuss whether an employer has to right and even an obligation, respectively, to take measures if an employee behaves badly outside the workplace
The event is hosted by Pestalozzi and Association of Corporate Counsel Europe (ACC Europe) and will be conducted in English.
