Pestalozzi advised International Paper in sale of its global cellulose fibres (GCF) business to AIP

On 23 January 2026, it has been announced that International Paper (NYSE: IP, LSE: IPC), a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions ("IP"), has completed the sale of its Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) business to funds affiliated with American Industrial Partners (AIP). As part of the sale agreement, AIP acquired the GCF business for USD 1.5 billion, including the issuance to IP of preferred stock of Absorbent Fiber Topco, Inc. with an aggregate initial liquidation preference of USD 190 million.
