Pestalozzi advises EKZ Renewables AG in connection with the sale of a 49.5% participation in a Spanish photovoltaic plant operating company to Pensionskasse Stadt Zürich
EKZ Renewables AG, a subsidiary of Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zürich, is a leading producer and supplier of renewable energy contributing to a CO2-free energy future by expanding renewable energy in Switzerland and in various European countires. Pensionskasse der Stadt Zürich (PKZH) acquired a stake of 49.5% of the shares held by EKZ Renewables in a Spanish photovoltaic plant operating company. Infrastructure investments in the renewable energy segment are part of the sustainability strategy of PKZH, which makes the new partnership strategically important to both parties.
Pestalozzi advised EKZ Renewables on all Swiss law aspects of the transaction and supervised the Spanish law transfer of shares in cooperation with the client's Spanish counsel.
