Pestalozzi advises AmTrust in the acquisition of a stake in Canopius Reinsurance in connection with the merger of AmTrust's Lloyds Business with Canopius
AmTrust Financial Services agreed to merge its Lloyd’s business with Swiss insurance group Canopius to create a top-five insurer at Lloyd’s with combined premiums of approximately $2.2 bn. As part of the transaction, AmTrust Financial Services Inc. will become a significant minority shareholder in Canopius, including Canopius Reinsurance AG, Zurich. Pestalozzi advises Amtrust as to Swiss laws and regulations.
