Pestalozzi advises Dow Chemical Company on the USD 1.63 billion reorganization and sale of the Styron business to Bain Capital Partners
Dow Chemical and Bain Capital Partners, a leading global private equity firm, closed the sale of Dow’s Styron Division to an affiliate of Bain Capital. Dow retains a 7.5 percent equity position in Styron, which is now a privately held, global materials company. Also included in the transaction are several long-term supply, service and purchase agreements between Dow and Styron. Dow had already announced in July 2009 to spin-off its Styron Division. Pestalozzi advised Dow as co-counsel regarding the Swiss and European business.
