IP Speaks Easy - 7th Edition (15 May 2019)
Yesterday we welcomed more than 30 young IP lawyers to the 7th edition of our IP Speaks Easy event series.
Peter Dvoracek, Head Legal and Compliance at Siemens Healthcare Ltd (Zurich), provided insights into the implementation work triggered by the new European Medical Device Regulation. The fireside chat was moderated by Janine Reudt-Demont and Sarah Drukarch, both members of Pestalozzi's IP & TMT team.
From the perspective of a Swiss medical devices importer, Peter particularly highlighted the need for adaption of the Mutual Recognition Agreement and the acceptance of CE-certifications. Based on examples and stories from his everyday life, he further revealed the challenges posed by his double role as the company's lawyer and compliance officer.
We are already looking forward to host the next IP Speaks Easy event in autumn 2019! The date will be announced soon.
IP Speaks Easy – Talks & Drinks is a know-how sharing and networking event series for young lawyers practicing in the field of IP and related matters. It was started by Pestalozzi's IP associates back in 2016 for their peers. Since then, the event takes place twice a year in spring and in autumn. Past guest speakers included Evelyn Thar (Amazee Metrics), Patricia Schlenter (Kickstart Accelerator), Helge Frebel (Astellas Pharma), Christian Leisinger (Leonteq Securities), Christoph Zweifel (Zweifel Pomy-Chips) and Fabian Fehr (Samsung).
