Pestalozzi advises Ringier on its acquisition of "Le Temps"
The Swiss Competition Commission ("ComCo") has approved the takeover of Swiss-French newspaper "Le Temps" by Ringier. Already on 28 August 2014 ComCo decided not to proceed with an in-depth investigation of the transaction. Both, Ringier and Tamedia were holding a 46,25% stake in the newspaper. In April 2014, Ringier entered into a transaction with Tamedia to acquire Tamedia's stake, thus becoming majority owner of "Le Temps". Commercial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Pestalozzi advised Ringier on the transaction, including the merger control proceedings in front of the ComCo.
