Pestalozzi was mandated by FINMA, the Swiss regulator, to investigate whether the Swiss bank involved correctly conducted its business in connection with allegedly fraudulent behavior by one of the bank's external asset managers. The matter was complex as a variety of off-shore structures set-up by the external asset manager were involved in this matter subject to Swiss law but requiring work within other jurisdictions.
