Pestalozzi advises South African Paper and Pulp Industries on the EUR 750 million share and asset deal on the acquisition of parts of the activities of M-real
South African Paper and Pulp Industries (Sappi), a worldwide manufacturer of paper and chemical cellulose, acquired the entire coated graphic paper business as well as certain closely related uncoated graphic paper business activities of M-real, a worldwide supplier of paperboard, paper and pulp, who is part of the Metsäliitto Group, a global forest industry group. The transaction was effected both by way of a business sell and by way of a share transfer for a total consideration of EUR 750 million. Pestalozzi acted as local counsel to Sappi.
