Tobias Christen is a senior associate and member of Pestalozzi's Litigation & Arbitration Group in Zurich. His main areas of practice are commercial litigation and arbitration, debt enforcement and contract law.
Tobias has vast experience in domestic and multi-jurisdictional court and arbitration proceedings (both institutional and ad hoc). His practice also covers a wide range of debt enforcement matters such as the recognition of foreign judgments, insolvency and composition proceedings as well as the freezing and recovery of assets.
Tobias graduated from the University of Lucerne in 2013 (Bachelor of Law) and 2015 (Master of Law). During these studies, he gained work experience as a trainee at a major Swiss business law firm and spent semesters abroad at the University of Copenhagen and at the University of Texas at Austin. Subsequently, he worked as a junior associate with a law firm in Lucerne and as trainee at the district court of Hochdorf, Lucerne. After his admission to the bar in 2017, he joined Pestalozzi as an associate. In 2024, Tobias obtained an LL.M. degree from the University of Melbourne (first class honours in all subjects).
